Challenge Yourself

Plug: I never really do this, but I’ve been hooked by this cute Shockwave game, PandaPang, and for anyone who feels like playing, give it a shot. It’s in Japanese, but the controls aren’t that hard. Left click to shoot the green blobs. There’s no pause button (that I can find) so keep that in mind. The closer you hit the blobs, the more points you get. Here’s a tip though: Don’t pick up the question mark; it will reset your power and your extended energy back to normal (I don’t know about speed though). There are only twelve levels, but the last one can be a bit of a bitch.
Note: In the previous post, I did not call nor want to call any of those girls sluts, skanks, whores, etc. I just wanted to comment on how those women did not need to dress so provocatively in order to get attention.
———————————————————————————-
I’m the type of person who can’t sit and do one thing. I need to multi-task; I need to feel busy, never idle. Sure, I don’t mind a break here and there, but that’s different from a life-long break.
How many of you are like me? How many of you feel the need to challenge yourself? Even if it’s just a little bit, like doing a Sudoku or a Crossword puzzle? Maybe even picking up a book to read leisurely? Do you push yourself as far as you can go or just sit while the fat accumulates?
If, in fact, you are not satisfied with where you are, then take a look around you. What can you do to change? What can you do to fix yourself? To steer yourself in the direction you want to go? Don’t take the wrong turn or go too quickly; you could crash, burn, and melt an overpass*.
My point is, don’t sit there idly waiting for your big moment, for your big change. If you want something to happen, take it upon yourself and do it. Take the initiative, learn, and grow.

Heh I like to do sudokus and read but I never think of it as something to do as a challenge, more to cure boredom. But you’re right, sitting around all idle is kinda bleh. And you’re right, we can’t just sit around waiting for the moment to come to us, we gotta go out and find it.

We’re the same! I love multi-tasking
I guess the term that suits me the most is cramming
I’m used to multi-tasking because I love to cram. But it’s true, if I want something to happen, I’ll definitely make it happen

Ooh, that sounds like fun, the panda game, I’m going to go give it a shot right now!
I like to feel busy as well. Even though I can spend hours at a time working on the computer I’ve got a million and one things going on it. Poor compy. Reading a book or watching a damn good movie is the only time I can be completely enthralled.
Now my dear Maria, your talent and skill as a blogger has been acknowledged at last. Come and get your award hun: http://nanashi-inc.net/weblog/2007/i-am-a-thinking-blogger/

I don’t like online games, it’s hard playing with a laptop. Besides it’s much better playing playstation if at all. I hate multitasking alot, I’ll do it once in awhile.

@Julie
I am a seeker. And sudoku’s are so much fun! Especially when you really get the ones that take you longer than five minutes to figure out! I suck at crossword puzzles though.
@Janelle
Go you! Empower yourself and I don’t mean that with a feminist tone either.
@Joana
As soon as I read your comment, I felt like I should send it to Miranda. Lol.
I like the award. I thank you much!
@Ricky
‘Tis indeed hard with a laptop, but I’ve turned my laptop into a desktop (kind of) by being a wireless mouse, a USB keyboard, and a flat screen monitor. All my laptop does now is check my email (I moved Thunderbird onto that screen) and download TV shows.

Dude, sudoku is the awesomest game ever! I also love puzzles. One of these days I’m going to try to do a 5000 piece puzzle. One girl might get me one for my birthday.
I love to listen to music, but when I do, I rarely just listen to the music. I often get lost in thought, sometimes thinking about deep stuff, sometimes stuff that isn’t so deep. I do my best thinking when I listen to music. Obviously, sitting and thinking won’t get anything done, but doing requires thought (and vice versa).
I’m not the greatest multitasker, except on the computer. Unless listening to music while doing math counts as multitasking. Most of the time, for me, “multitasking” is another word for distraction.

You make a really good point. If people thought the way you did, then the world would be a much better place. Anyway, I think you are making a good point and I hope people can gain as much fromit as I did.

Hmmm… I’m not really the type of person who like to push myself like that. I’m actually a lazy person, so I’d rather sit back and let fat accumulate.

I usualy feel like I’ve failed at something if I don’t accomplish anything during the day that I want to get done. I have my days where i’m kind of lazy, but I just end up jumping up after a few hours and doing loads of crap…

I couldn’t play
To play I’ll need to download this “plugin” or whatever, but I take your word for it that it’s good
And like you; I gotta say I can’t sit down and just do nothing. Sometimes I’m very good at it though, but I’ve been noticing that nowadays I want to do something and can’t sit still. I don’t do those Sudokus or puzzles. I just move around.
And that tiny picture image. Oh man, so photoshopped

@Margaret
Wow a 5K puzzle? Good luck with that! Where do you find the floor space for that?! Lol.
@Angel
But we all know that unfortunately, people can’t think like me, or alike, so we’re always going to have people at opposite ends.
I’m flattered that you like my thinking.
@Sai
Accumulate away? I guess if that’s your kind of a boat, then let it float.
@Ivory
At least you get your stuff done! Sometimes I let my procrastination last a little longer than I should.
@Patty
The plugin is the Adobe Shockwave player, which I suppose that many games nowadays don’t really use.
Actually, that tinypic image is not photoshopped. That’s a highway that got destroyed due to a gas tanker blowing up. Crazy huh?

Mari can’t stand sudoku. Mari likes trivia games better.
Pandapang is such a cute game! Mari isn’t that good though…heh.
