The article wasn’t offensive and I don’t believe in gay marriage because there is something wrong with the fact that marriage is a Christian tradition and crap like that. But the mere argument that homophobia should be illegal is as ignorant as the McCarthism era where beliefs were deemed “illegal”. But that article wasn’t very amusing either. Straight parents don’t always raise straight kids, that’s why we have gay kids now. Was this article meant to be a joke because it wasn’t funny nor amusing and it was alittle immature as the other post attacking you were.

It’d be nice if you could say somewhere (perhaps an edit or the next blog?) that the list is a joke and is actually PRO gay marriage. (Remember we put them up for the Gay Straight Alliance during Diversity Week?) You probably don’t need to justify your actions to these people, but they mean well and deserve a laugh, too

The ability to express your opinion in a way that doesn’t offend another person is what seperates Man from Beast. However, from what you’ve said, we still have a long way to go. Hopefully, some day people will be able to have a mature conversation about controversial topics without being made to feel defensive.

Mari’s really surprised that Anonymous bothered to go through POINT BY POINT and didn’t catch that that the article was totally sarcastic.

This person is out there somewhere DRIVING? Mari’s gonna hide in her house for a week just because of the thought of someone so dense behind the wheel.

Mari’s also very surprised that a lot of seemingly sane people didn’t seem to get that it was sarcastic…

And yeah, if homophobia was illegal, wouldn’t the remainders of the KKK get arrested every time they demonstrate publicly down south? Point being, even if Maria did actually believe that (by the way, since you’re all so DENSE, she posted a sarcastic -read: not serious- article about gay marriage, so that means she’s for it), it’s not illegal.

Maria, will you please post something new? 1) So these lunkheads can go back to eating lead paint chips (or whatever they do to make themselves unable to see sarcasm). 2) So Mari can stop losing faith in the intelligence of the human species every time she sees the comments.

It’s hilarious when people can’t pick up on sarcasm, especially when it’s as glaringly obvious as in that article.

But yeesh, you are free to be homophobic (and sadly, too many exercise that freedom). And if you’re going to call someone out on being a bigot of any kind, 1) do it in a civilized manner as it makes you look better and more intelligent and whatnot and 2) realize that this person may not change and you’ll have to deal with that :O

Yes, people have wrongful prejudices and whatnot, but they can be that way if they so desire. Free will, baby.

Even within some of these comments people don’t see the sarcasm in it all. Maybe you should but up a note on that page saying “If you cant see the sarcasm in this then you shouldn’t breed.”

I think that you may have came off a bit harsh but it’s your site.

If people cannot handle it, they should not come back, to the girl who’s going to “leave more nasty comments,” so what? What the hell is that going to do. If you have a problem then you should write about what you think on YOUR site.

When I saw that girl’s blog about her cutting and thinking the shit was funny, I didn’t tag her with stupid comments; I wrote my own blog on it.

If you never edited your older entry whatsoever, then people really should read, and in their case, reread before they comment. Being a lesbian myself, I can get a little worked up reading anti-homosexuality writings, too; but that list was very clear itself from point 1. Oh well, maybe English isn’t their first language (but it isn’t mine, either).
