GoldSmith Jewelry is hosting a giveaway! They are giving away a pair of diamond stud earrings that are worth about $1500! Isn’t that amazing? They are hosting this as a way to create some traffic and publicity for their site. I don’t blame them for trying to go through the bloggers! I’m surprised that they’re not going through one of the blogging advertising sites to get the publicity, but maybe this will reach a much larger audience in the blogosphere.

Anyway, the contest entry time ends on February 4. The polls will open on February 5 and the winner will be chosen by a poll. So basically, it’s a popularity contest. I don’t even know why I’m bothering to apply for this considering my current audience. I’m not hitting a large amount of people so I honestly don’t think I’m that popular of a person. But if I don’t enter, I’ll lessen my chances of winning, right? Wish me luck!

Yowza! What a prize for a simple blog entry. You better believe I’ll be entering when I get home. So.. how do you find out about these givaways?

I entered, too, and I am really hoping to win.
I love when companies do things like this. Not sure I like the whole Poll idea, though, lol.

    Julie,

I don’t like the poll either because
    1) there are going to be a gazillion blogs entering.
    2) it’s just a damned popularity contest and for the little people like me, we stand no chance.
    3) since it’s a popularity contest for quite a pair of earrings, there WILL be cheaters.

I agree with the poll. Although they can see who entered more than once, just the fact that one cannot go through ALL the entries to decide which is best is already a minus for those who were not reviewed. And since you can only vote once, who else will you vote for? I did not vote at all. I’m allergic to polls. I was once accused of cheating because my votes were high. There should actually be a rule that the entrants should not be able to vote. But who can know? The poll should have been discarded all together. The contest-holder should be the one to decide since they saw every post. Besides, it’s their contest. I’m just starting to go all around the entries and I have just seen a handful yet.

    Qtpies7,

Yeah, I’m not too keen on the polls either.

    c5,

Exactly. They’re holding the contest and they should make it better than this ridiculous popularity contest. It’s absurd and who knows what’s going on?
