One thing I love about diners are the Bar Stools. One, because I’m so short, it makes me feel taller. Two, it’s just cool to sit on! Of course, it’s hard to sit in a bar stool at the diner counter if you’ve got friends with you, but nevertheless, is fun. I do know that there is a sandwich store here in my town that has really tall bar-like stools for the tables, so you don’t necessarily have to sit alone or at the counter, but it’s not the same.

I don’t know if I could ever be brave enough to go sit at a bar stool alone. I have a hard enough time trying to find men while standing in a crowd, so finding a man on a bar stool? I don’t know about that and about how successful I’d be. Plus, I don’t like to seem socially awkward at all and I know that if I were to sit alone at a bar, I’d feel awful shy and timid. I probably wouldn’t want to approach anybody. However, if I had a friend with me, I’d feel much more relaxed… except for the part when only one person comes up to one of us and either she gets hooked up or I get hooked up and we leave the other behind.
