Long Hair vs. Short Hair

So a few months ago, I ended up doing a dramatic change and cut my hair. I donated what I could to Locks of Love since I have really great hair. So of course, I’m wondering which I look better with. I admit that both styles give me a different kind of look, but which fits me more? I have noticed that since I’ve cut the short hair, I get a lot less looks from the opposite sex. Maybe it’s a whole long haired Asian fetish thing that people have? But that’s a whole other topic for me to dive into at another point.

Anyway, so here are two pictures of me with long hair and two with short hair. The pictures are small right now, but if you click on them, a small white box should pop open for you to be able to flip through them.

It’s really a hard one, but since you’re asking for a straight answer, I say long. Personally, I think hair is a beautiful thing and the longer it is, as long as it’s healthy, the prettier it is. But there are times when a short sexy cut is needed and is better, for a while.

Can’t go wrong with long

I hear that that’s a pain for ladies to deal with though (heavy), and since I’m not very big on suffering for the sake of appearance, whatever floats your boat.

I think the short hair looks nice with your face. I’m thinking of cutting mine as the weight gives me headaches when I put it up!

Maria — your hair is beautiful no matter what length it is. It’s more style than length that determines what’s a good hairstyle for a person. You have a lovely oval face that will look good no matter the length. Now if you had asked bangs or no bangs, that would make a really big difference in how your face looks.

Sadly, you’re one of the few who enjoy it long. I’m thinking that maybe I’ll either keep it short or a few inches past shoulder length, but I won’t go back to its original length.

Long is pretty and is sometimes a pain to take care of, but it’s really not as bad as you think it is. It’s heavy when you try to tie your hair, sure, or when you’re washing your hair, but I didn’t notice too big a difference afterwards.

Thanks. That was one of the reasons why I didn’t like to put my hair up; it dragged too much. I did learn a trick however: instead of using just one hair tie, use two (like a double band) as you’re tying and it will hold much better.

You’re right; sometimes it doesn’t matter on the length but the style. I don’t think I need to ask the question of bangs or no bangs; I’m sticking with them! But only the side-swept kinds; no more full head bangs like I used to have as a kid!

I think that even shorter hair would suit you more!
I just chopped my hair off recently. i get a lot less looks too. (that’s how i stumbled on your site) guys always like long hair better

anyway, you look a lot better with shorter hair, but maybe more “sexy” with it long.
