So, Colin King over at CK Marketing is hosting a contest. Again, it’s for some Entrecard credits. This time, he is giving away 1000 credits and to me, that is a whole lot since I barely have half of that at the moment.
Colin writes about a lot of different website topics ranging from how to create Wordpress themes (there is a series of them) to validating your website. However, he doesn’t go too particularly in depth with this article. For me, validating can be a little tricky, especially if you end up with errors. He does mention this, however, that in many cases, one mistake can cause many error messages. This article definitely could have used some more resources rather than just linking the Web Developers’ Toolbar. For example, he could have included a page to some wonderful resources such as the W3 Schools or to W3.org where you can validate your (X)HTML/CSS.
The site has got a nice green feel to it, but honestly, it’s not all that eye catching. I don’t really like all of the partial blogs; a lot of people, myself included, don’t like to do a lot of clicking and by having all these partial posts, it doesn’t really help me feel more inclined to jump into the posts, you know? I know that in some cases, it can be done, but in this particular case, the titles aren’t catchy enough and the “pick of the week” posts don’t seem to pull me in either. It’s nice to have the posts out there in the open.
Anyway, I’m sure that for some people, this site will come in handy, but for me, I think I’ll pass.
