So about three weeks ago, Margaret announced the winner of the Bath and Works giveaway and that I won. She sent the package shortly after and I received the package on the 11th of February.
Well, what I mean by “received” is that it was delivered, but since no one answered the door (my roommates couldn’t be bothered to answer the damned intercom’s phone), they left a slip for me to pick it up. Since I had just started work and I wasn’t going to be in the post office’s area anytime soon, I asked my friend, RN, if he could swing by after his classes to pick it up for me. He went the day after (on Tuesday), but they couldn’t find the package. I was a little peeved, but I thought that I could go in on Saturday for it and they could find it. Well, I realized I couldn’t go on Saturday, so I saved it for the following Tuesday morning, the 19th of February.
I went into the office with my slip and photo ID and waited for what seemed like ten years instead of ten minutes. They couldn’t find the package… again. Knowing that they only keep packages for 10 days, I asked them what my options where. I was told to call the supervisor in the morning before the mail carriers would leave. I called and called and called. Sometimes when I called, no one would answer. Other times, I would be put on hold for an obscene amount of time (I’m on my cell phone, by the way). After a few days of the whole phone situation, I was pretty pissed off, to say the least.
They had my name and number and by Saturday, I was giving it a lost cause and assumed the package for lost. Then, on Monday evening, in the middle of my break, I received a call (or voicemail rather) that they had finally found my package. I asked if they could deliver the package and leave it in the mail area, but the supervisor was afraid that I’d have to sign for it (which I had highly doubted, but I wasn’t going to argue), so he said it would be much better if I could just go in.
I realized that I have quite a bit of time on Tuesday to get things done, especially in the morning, since I don’t have to show up for work until 2pm, so I planned to go to the office. After many weeks of many different emotions running around, I finally got her package in my hands, which I opened at work only to realize that she had completely overcompensated in the box size.
Now the fun part comes when I can finally try these items out. Thanks a lot Margaret! (And not so many thanks to the post office for the delay…)
About a few weeks ago, I posted about a Diamond Stud Earrings Giveaway. I mentioned that there will be a poll, which I’m not too in favor of, but there is a poll nonetheless.
Now, lucky for me, I submitted quite early, so my name, “Boscardin” is right near the top on the left-hand side. The poll will make you write a short thing about why you’re voting for the person you chose, but I don’t think it’s all that important; they just want to make sure that no one’s cheating probably.
The poll results are private, so I have no idea where I stand right now in that long list of contestants. All I have to do is hope that I win!
Also the poll closes on February 10, so please hurry and vote for me!
(Or for Julie who’s running under “Velvet-Rose”)
So, Colin King over at CK Marketing is hosting a contest. Again, it’s for some Entrecard credits. This time, he is giving away 1000 credits and to me, that is a whole lot since I barely have half of that at the moment.
Colin writes about a lot of different website topics ranging from how to create Wordpress themes (there is a series of them) to validating your website. However, he doesn’t go too particularly in depth with this article. For me, validating can be a little tricky, especially if you end up with errors. He does mention this, however, that in many cases, one mistake can cause many error messages. This article definitely could have used some more resources rather than just linking the Web Developers’ Toolbar. For example, he could have included a page to some wonderful resources such as the W3 Schools or to W3.org where you can validate your (X)HTML/CSS.
The site has got a nice green feel to it, but honestly, it’s not all that eye catching. I don’t really like all of the partial blogs; a lot of people, myself included, don’t like to do a lot of clicking and by having all these partial posts, it doesn’t really help me feel more inclined to jump into the posts, you know? I know that in some cases, it can be done, but in this particular case, the titles aren’t catchy enough and the “pick of the week” posts don’t seem to pull me in either. It’s nice to have the posts out there in the open.
Anyway, I’m sure that for some people, this site will come in handy, but for me, I think I’ll pass.
I feel kind of lucky right about now. Okay, one I won and the other I was selected. Either way, I feel just a little special.
The first giveaway I won was from Margaret at EyeSpi20.com. I wrote a post about it awhile ago in order to get another entry into the contest. Well, a few days ago, she announced the winner of the contest and yay for me, I won!
The next contest I won this week was from Socko’s Spot. The contest asked me to write a caption for a cute tiger photo and to the best of my ability (and through months of looking at LOLCat pictures), I wrote what I thought was a relatively good caption. Well, my caption was chosen as one of the funniest captions and I won! This time, I won 500 Entrecard credits, which is quite a lot of credits. If you’re not sure of what Entrecard is, check out their website.
Anyway, time to be a little happier with my day!
Yes, my friend Margaret is having another contest and this time, it’s for some wonderful Bath and Body Works goodies. I hope I win this, but considering the fact that I was the first one to comment, who knows? I don’t feel that my chances on winning are that great at this point. Lol. But we’ll see, right? With the last contest, my friend, Amber won. It would be cool of I won because then we could keep it in the same circle. Then again, that might be unfair to other groups.
Wish me luck!
