… for not neglecting me by leaving me in a car to die of a heat stroke.

I read the news recently from my hometown about a man who left his 11-month baby in his car while he went to work. His partial excuse for that was because his daily routine had changed for the day. To put it simply, he forgot and through his negligence, his son was killed.

It happens too often and every summer I see at least one news story about this.

The question that comes to mind is how? How can a parent be so willing to forget his/her own child? You figure that you spend so much time and money on this child, this beautiful creature that you have created and to throw it all away because you forgot?

That’s despicable. Yes, we are only humans and we are apt to err, but one mistake shouldn’t cost somebody his/her life. True there are some parents who can be the best parents ever to their child, but it can all be lost with one mistake, one negligent mistake.

So this post is here for me to thank my parents for not neglecting me in such a way. Yes, they were rarely home when I was growing up and perhaps you could call that negligence too, but I know that they were not home because they were working in order for me and their family to have better lives.
