Yes. Sometimes, people aren’t ready to have children and should one be created in that time, it will only cause more chaos. What if the couple (or mother) cannot support the child? What if the mother’s job demands require too much and having a pregnancy would complicate things? It’s not killing a child. It’s an unborn child, a fetus with no feelings or emotions. Yes, the child will develop these things, but during the pregnancy, there are none. Say for example you can foresee a horrible accident. You know that if you do nothing, it will happen. You could also choose to prevent it. I’m not saying the unborn child is a “horrible accident,” but the child may live in a horrible environment should the mother/parents be unfit to care for the child. Women should be allowed to choose based on the circumstances and much thought. Why take that right away?
Even though I’m not for abortion in general because I do believe it is taking a life, I think the option should always remain because you just never know what can happen and who may really truly need it. Plus, like in the not telling parents about their child’s abortion topic thinger, people who want it will get it, at least this way they have a safe way to do it so they don’t find some butcher on the street.
Absolutely. A woman should have a choice over her own body. It’s really a women’s rights thing, not an infants/fetuses” rights thing. It’s trying to strip the woman of her reproductive rights, and is rather backwards considering how far we’ve come since bra burning.
Absolutely. Women should at least have the choice. Not all women are going to have abortions. But the ability and the right to choose should exist. Honestly, if a woman is not ready for a child then I would prefer that they have an abortion then give birth and abuse the child, which is something that does in fact happen. And it’s becoming even more common which is even sadder. Would I prefer that women find another way to avoid becoming pregnant? Yes of course. But abortion isn’t just an option for those who don’t want kids. What about women who are raped and become pregnant. Why should these women be forced to endure a pregnancy after such a horrible experience. It bothers me when people say abortion should be illegal except for rape or except if there are complications. This shouldn’t be a gray area.
I'm a California native, been here for almost 21 years of my life. I'm the middle child in a family of five, an undergraduate student at the University of California: Berkeley, a plan-loving Libra, a fashion-oriented consumer, a hopeless romantic, and a lover of good music.
Anything else about me you can learn through other means. Go ahead, take the journey!
