I don’t see why not. Humans are the most complex species around so why can’t they have complex emotions, feelings, desires, needs? Nothing is simple. Love isn’t even simple. We work with what we get. If we’re attracted to somebody who reciprocates the emotions, then it doesn’t matter whether or not that person is a man or woman. So, yes, it should be legalized. I don’t see why we have to wait so long for it. =T
I grew up in a Christian family. Until age twelve I went to church every Sunday and read the bible. I believe in what I learned, but not in a way that it will shatter my own beliefs of what is wrong and what is right. It’s said that homosexuality is "un-natural", while I feel that love is love. Period. How can it be un-natural if it is a true feeling that people have. Why should people that have these feelings for each other be forced to live in a society where it is a taboo among people. I believe that people should have a choice about who they love and who they can marry.
I believe that gay marriage should most definitely be legalized. Humans are one of the most complex species on the planet Earth, and they also have one of the most complex emotional natures. Each and everyone of us faces decisions, that aren’t simple, and that if we can find someone, be it male or female, that helps us with these decisions, or makes us feel both beautiful and safe, then it shouldn’t matter whether or not, we are the same sex. If you recall, it was once illegal for two people of different races to be married…but now, it’s commonplace. So, yes, it should be legalized.
Honestly, I don’t really see a problem with it. I mean, I’m not for gayness, I think it’s wrong and kinda nasty, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have the right to be who they are and be together with who they love.
Mari sees no good reason that gay marriage shouldn’t be legalized. The people that oppose it are both misquoting the Bible and just afraid. And that’s pretty weak.
The only reason it is illegal is that so many people are so afraid of it. It’s like trying to get a child to take a shot. They scream and cry and the nurse/doctor has a heck of a time, but no matter what, that kid is going to get that danged innoculation.
Mari finds it sad that so many loving couples that just happen to be of the same sex will not be able to be married for another N number of years just because a portion of the nation is kicking and screaming like frightened children at the doctor’s office.
I'm a California native, been here for almost 21 years of my life. I'm the middle child in a family of five, an undergraduate student at the University of California: Berkeley, a plan-loving Libra, a fashion-oriented consumer, a hopeless romantic, and a lover of good music.
Anything else about me you can learn through other means. Go ahead, take the journey!
